The title design for a fictional festival.

We want to create a space for young, culturally aware people interested in art, music, fashion and street culture where they can connect, have freedom, make art and express themselves. The aim is to bring together people from the local community and creatives from the urban arts scene. Borders don’t matter, everybody for everybody, everybody with everybody.

The style: An urban and minimalist style that works with strong, clear lines and is based on Brutalism. It relies on strong contrasts in colours and materials to emphasise the connection between the city and art.

Teamwork with Sonja Reimann & Nele Machnik

A big shout out to our fantastic and highly talented cast: Henning Draheim, Maxima Laser, Laura Lin, Julius Lohmar, Nike Schmitt, and Diego Tristao. Without you it would not have been half as good and fun to shoot!

Look & Feel

Our visual concept balances controlled compositional elements with atmospheric lighting to create a distinctive invitation to ARTISTS ARCHIVE. The cinematography establishes a deliberate contrast between the cold, inhospitable outside world — rendered in desaturated blue-green tones — and the event space, marked by signature red illumination. This red light serves as a visual metaphor for the event itself and as a beacon that draws subjects and viewers towards the experience.

All shots maintain precise compositional integrity through centered framing and golden ratio principles. The visual planes remain clean and uncluttered, deliberately avoiding Dutch angles or chaotic visual elements. Static, tripod-mounted camera work creates a sense of stability and control throughout the piece. Subjects are filmed from a slightly low angle to establish their authority and desirability, creating an aspirational relationship with the viewer. Their controlled, minimal movements combined with direct camera address forge a compelling invitation to join their community.

Motion is highly intentional throughout the visual narrative. Stationary, tripod-mounted shots predominate, while selected handheld sequences maintain consistent directional movement. Half-speed slow motion adds gravitas to subject movements, and motion blur is selectively employed only when heightened dynamism is required.

The visual narrative unfolds through three distinct shot categories. Character Establishing Shots feature single subjects, measured pacing, minimal red lighting, and direct eye contact. Interaction Shots display multiple subjects, increased tempo, and prominent red light effects. Surrounding Area Shots provide urban environmental context with cool color temperature, brief duration, and heightened desaturation.
