Multiverse - Imagine changing just one atom.

Think of our universe as a single book with its own story. The multiverse is a giant library filled with an infinite number of books. Some are almost identical, others are slightly different, and some tell completely unrecognizable stories. Even moving one single atom creates an entirely new book.

That kind of infinity is almost impossible to imagine — but that‘s exactly what I want to capture visually in my movie. Through short sequences, I show how even the smallest details can vary from one universe to the next. But it‘s not just the small things that change — entire worlds can look fundamentally different.

To convey these dramatic differences without overwhelming the viewer, I kept the basic structures the same and only changed the textures and finer details.

Process

The project was produced in 2023 with the interpolation mode in Stable Diffusion Deforum. Each frame is generated using a new noise seed, which is why they all look slightly different as they morph into the different scene variations.

Today‘s AI tools produce smooth animations because each frame is generated using the same seed. This is the new state of the art. For me, the ‚old‘ flickery style of video generation is still charming and was the reason the production was possible in the first place.

Title Animation

The HTML-code for creating the title animations was programmed to switch randomly between 60 different fonts for each letter. The glow and chromatic aboration were added to create the effect of surrealism and glitching between the different universes.
